The Technical Association of the Graphic Arts is an international community of industry professionals and academics dedicated to scientific research and technological innovation in the diverse field of graphic communications. TAGA recognizes that students are the future leaders of the industry, and treats them as such. TAGA Student Chapters instill future professionals with an understanding of the role that science and research plays in technology developments and industry progress.
A TAGA student chapter reinforces classroom and experiential learning. In addition to the learning that occurs during chapter meetings, the design and production of a research journal for the TAGA chapter competition develops industry-specific skills, along with skills in project management, technical writing, interpersonal communications, and in some cases, fund raising.
Chapter activities culminate at the Annual Technical Conference, where students interact with students from other chapters and network with industry leaders, scientists, and researchers. The TAGA Annual Technical Conference makes students full participants, blending student-only sessions with top-level keynotes and peer-reviewed research presentations.
